Our Story

As the Roy Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints our youth group consists of about 150 kids. Every 4 years we typically do a large activity that we set money aside for and for 2019 we were challenged to find something that would make a big difference in the lives of these youth.

Our budget for this activity is large and, you can imagine, that we thought of a lot of FUN ways to spend the money. But at the end of the day, we weren’t making a BIG difference.

So…we gave our youth this challenge:

“How much good in the world could you do with $10,000?”

You can see…that when we asked the youth – this is what came about. An amazing event that will bless the lives of many, many people…including our youth.

We are looking for talented people to help us with a few things that will make a big impact – we hope you’ll consider joining with us to LOVE and SERVE!

Here are the local charities we will be helping and links to their websites:

Roy Hillside Senior Center – we are planning to have a food drive, build shelves and have a ribbon cutting for the new food pantry to benefit seniors on fixed incomes in our area.

Youth Futures of Ogden – Youth Futures provides safe shelter, collaborative resources, respectful guidance and diverse support to homeless, unaccompanied, runaway and at-risk youth.  Our benefit concert proceeds will go to help with their efforts.

Family Promise of Ogden – A cost effective and community based approach to ending homelessness in Weber County.  Proceeds from our Super Hero 5k will go to help this organization.

YCC Family Crisis Center – The agency provides services to victims of domestic violence, homelessness, rape and sexual assault. Our youth will be doing a donation drive to collect needed supplies.
